To achieve a flawless, long-lasting tan, preparation is essential:

24-48 Hours Before Your Appointment

Exfoliate thoroughly using a gentle, oil-free scrub or mitt, focusing on dry areas like elbows, knees, ankles, and hands. This removes dead skin cells and ensures an even application.

Avoid waxing or shaving the same day as your tan. Ideally, complete any hair removal at least 24 hours prior to avoid open pores and potential irritation.

Moisturise regularly in the days leading up to your tan—but not on the day of your appointment.

On the Day of Your Tan

Shower at least 3 hours prior to allow your skin to cool and be free of excess moisture.

Avoid applying moisturisers, deodorants, perfumes or makeup—these can create a barrier and affect the tan’s absorption.

Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment to avoid rubbing or staining.

Post-tan care helps your colour last longer and fade evenly:

First 2-8 Hours (or as advised)

Avoid showering, sweating, swimming or applying products. This allows the tan to develop fully.

Hands off! Don’t touch or rub your skin while the tan is developing.

After Your First Rinse

Use lukewarm water only—no soap during this first rinse.

Pat skin dry gently with a towel—don’t rub.

Avoid moisturising until after the full development time (usually 24 hours post-tan).

In the Days Following

Hydrate your skin daily with an alcohol-free moisturiser to extend your tan’s life and prevent patchiness.

Avoid harsh exfoliants and hot showers that can fade your tan more quickly.

Use tan-enhancing products recommended by your therapist to top up and refresh your glow.
